DLS posts Cherry Sheet estimates based on House budget
May 04, 2010The Division of Local Services today posted updated local aid estimates based on the fiscal 2011 state budget bill passed by the House last week.
With the exception of Regional Public Library account, the estimates for the final House budget proposal are the same as the estimates based on the budget bill proposed by the House Ways and Means Committee, according to the DLS.

A reduction to the Charter School Tuition Reimbursement appropriation will have no impact on the local aid estimates, according to the DLS, since the amount appropriated is still higher than the estimates appearing on the House Ways and Means budget proposals. A change to the appropriation language for the Regional Public Library program directed the Board of Library Commissioners to use the 2008 U.S. Census population figures to determine the estimates and has eliminated the regional reference center libraries. This changes the estimate of Regional Public Library aid to be received by several communities.
The local aid estimates are subject to change as the legislative budget process unfolds. Charter School and School Choice assessments may also change significantly when updated to reflect spring enrollment data and final tuition rates.
