Lt. Gov. Tim Murray will deliver opening remarks during the Massachusetts Selectmen’s Association’s Annual Business Meeting, to be held on Saturday, Jan. 21, 8:30-10 a.m., during the MMA Annual Meeting & Trade Show in Boston.

The meeting will also feature a session on performance-based compensation. Speakers will discuss how towns develop performance-based evaluation and compensation programs for department heads and other professional and administrative positions.

The session will offer examples from communities that have goal-driven compensation, as well as planning and implementation strategies and lessons learned.

Panelists will be Stephen Delaney, human resources manager in Danvers; Steve Levinsky, chair of the Natick Personnel Board; and Andover Selectman Alex Vispoli. MMA President and Natick Selectman Joshua Ostroff will moderate.

All selectmen are invited to this Saturday morning business meeting.

The MSA Annual Business Meeting will include a year-in-review presentation by MSA President and Sherborn Selectman Paul DeRensis and the election of the MSA Executive Committee for 2012.

The 90-minute meeting will allow ample time for discussion among selectmen in attendance.
